As an organization, we focus our work, using Delta's Five Point Programmatic Thrust. It is the organizing principle in developing Kalamazoo Alumnae's public service programs. The five points are:
- Economic Development
- Educational Development
- International Awareness and Involvement
- Physical and Mental Health
- Political Awareness and Involvement
Some of our local programs are: the Charles Drew, Jean Peterson Memorial Blood Drive, an annual blood drive in partnership with the American Red Cross which supports physical and mental health; our Financial Resource Day or workshop “Stopping Senior Fraud” supports economic development ; our Literacy Café, annual high school scholarships and our annual support of the Women Education Coalition supports educational development; our Community Conversation Issue Forums and Voter Registration drives support Political Awareness and Involvement. We also have participated in National programs, GEMS (Growing Empowering Myself Successfully) and EMBODI (Empowering Males to Build Opportunities for Developing Independence), that provided - opportunities to support educational development for African-American boys and girls.
