Welcome to the official website for the Kalamazoo Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated

I welcome you to our website and encourage you to review this information to become acquainted with Kalamazoo Alumnae Chapter. You will learn who we are and some of the programs and activities of Kalamazoo Alumnae and its members. As an organization deeply committed to public service at local, state, national and international levels, we offer a variety of opportunities to serve in meaningful ways. If you are already a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and have not been active recently, you have been missed! I encourage you to reignite your passion and join us in making a difference in the lives of others. If you are not a member, be assured there will be many opportunities for you to participate with Delta in extending our community outreach.

Delta's Five Point National Thrust is the organizing principle for the development of Kalamazoo Alumnae's public service programs:

  1. Economic Development
  2. Educational Development
  3. International Awareness and Involvement
  4. Physical and Mental Health
  5. Political Awareness

Our signature Health program, the Charles Drew Memorial Annual Blood Drive supports the physical and mental health thrust ; our annual scholarship awards as well as National programs, GEMS (Growing Empowering Myself Successfully) and EMBODI(Empowering Males to Build Opportunities for Developing Independence), provide opportunities to support educational development of African-American young men and women. Kalamazoo Alumnae members' presence at city, county and state government meetings continues to alert elected officials that Deltas are leaders in shaping political thought, opinions and action.

The members of Kalamazoo Alumnae Chapter eagerly look forward to the centennial celebration of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. in 2013. In these hundred years, Delta has established an outstanding reputation for excellent public service and visionary leadership. Kalamazoo Alumnae, as one of its more than 900 chapters, has been a proud part of this legacy since 1973. Help us in continuing this tradition!

Thank you for visiting our website.

Sincerely,

Musette Bell El-Mohammed
